FBOs of North America: how the largest business aviation market works

The catalogue holds 98 objects in the region: business aviation terminals, FBOs and VIP lounges in 78 cities. Below are the ones that set the level of service in the region, and a short map of the rest.

Million Air Dallas

Addison (Dallas), Texas, USA · Addison (ADS) · standalone complex

Million Air Dallas Photo: Public domain

The progenitor of the Million Air brand: it was here in 1984 that the luxury FBO concept appeared and grew into a network of some 36 locations. The terminal in the northern part of Addison airport offers a cinema room, a gym, quiet lounges and Mercedes-Benz cars for crews. The complex includes more than 138 000 sq ft of heated hangars and a capacious apron, and accepts aircraft up to the BBJ. The company also handles charter, management and aircraft sales, and holds an ARG/US Platinum rating.

Aero Center Atlanta (formerly Epps Aviation)

Atlanta, Georgia, USA · DeKalb-Peachtree (PDK) · standalone complex

Atlanta's oldest FBO: the Epps family founded the company in 1965, and for decades it was the only independent full-service operator at DeKalb-Peachtree, Georgia's second busiest airport. The 21-acre campus includes an executive terminal, eight large hangars and forty light ones; the Downwind restaurant on the terminal's first floor overlooks the runway. Besides passenger handling it offers fuelling, charter, maintenance and avionics. Today the site belongs to the Aero Centers network under the name Aero Center Atlanta.

Signature Aviation BWI

Baltimore, Maryland, USA · Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall (BWI) · standalone complex

An FBO in the corporate aviation zone of Baltimore/Washington airport, 10 miles from Baltimore and within convenient reach of Washington and Annapolis. The complex includes a passenger terminal with a waiting lounge, its own hangars and apron; aircraft fuelling runs round the clock. The point is popular with operators who need the capital region without the restrictions of Reagan airport. Service standards are common to the whole Signature network.

Jet Aviation Boston/Bedford

Bedford, Massachusetts (Boston), USA · Hanscom Field (BED) · standalone complex

Jet Aviation Boston/Bedford Photo: Public domain

The principal FBO of Hanscom Field, New England's largest general aviation airport, 20 miles from central Boston. The two-storey terminal of 18 000 sq ft has worked since 1984: passenger lounges, showers and a crew rest room, meeting rooms. In total Jet Aviation occupies about 360 000 sq ft at Hanscom, and the refurbished hangar accepts aircraft up to the Gulfstream G650. The site is certified to IS-BAH Stage 2.

Hollywood Burbank Jet Center (ex-Million Air Burbank)

Burbank, Los Angeles, USA · Hollywood Burbank (BUR) · standalone complex

An independent FBO in the centre of Hollywood Burbank airport, which traded for 22 years under the Million Air mark and moved to its own brand in July 2025. The recognisable round red terminal building with gold lettering is one of the airport's calling cards. A five-acre apron accepts aircraft up to the Boeing 757; there are hangars and two guarded entrances for confidential arrival of clients. Inside are a bar, a concierge, a business centre, a meeting room and crew rest rooms with a shower. It is the business terminal nearest to Hollywood and the Burbank studios, and the film industry uses it heavily.

Yellowstone Jet Center

Bozeman, USA · Bozeman Yellowstone International (BZN) · standalone complex

The principal air gateway to the Big Sky and Yellowstone resorts: in winter, from mid-December to mid-March, the apron and hangars are full, and the complex also takes aircraft that could not find hangar space in Aspen, Vail and Jackson Hole. The FBO has worked since the late 1970s (originally Sunbird Aviation) and has carried the name Yellowstone Jet Center since 2000; it has belonged to the Signature network since 2011 and remains one of the few of its sites keeping its own brand. The terminal of about 1 400 m² is finished in Montana mountain style: a fireplace hall of local mountain stone, panoramic views of the Bridger range, a gym, a conference room, rest rooms and showers for crews. More than 9 000 m² of heated hangars hold aircraft up to Boeing BBJ size; a Signature TECHNICAir maintenance station operates there. For international arrivals the airport has a federal inspection facility with customs, created with the participation of Signature and the Yellowstone Club; the airport itself is the busiest in Montana and one of the fastest growing in the United States.

Atlantic Aviation Boca Raton

Boca Raton, Florida, USA · Boca Raton (BCT) · standalone complex

Atlantic Aviation Boca Raton Photo: Public domain

An FBO two miles from the centre of Boca Raton — the airport serves the prestigious golf and yachting communities between Palm Beach and Miami. A full rebuild of the executive terminal is under way: the new building, with a spacious lobby, a conference area, a guest lounge, a coffee bar and a crew lounge, is due to open in mid-2026, and until then handling runs from a temporary terminal in hangar B3. The complex has a large guarded apron and hangars. Catering, car hire and flight planning rooms are available to passengers.

Skyservice FBO Vancouver

Vancouver (Richmond), Canada · Vancouver International Airport (YVR) · standalone complex

The eleventh site of the Skyservice network, opened in April 2023. The passenger lounge on two levels looks out onto the mountains of the Pacific range. Three heated hangars and an apron of 175 000 sq ft accept long-haul business jets of the Global 7500/8000 and Gulfstream G700/G800 classes. The operator offers sustainable aviation fuel and carbon offsetting, and plans its own maintenance centre on the site.

The whole series

North America is the largest regional review in the series: close to a third of the catalogue's sites belong to this region alone. The other regions, the comparison of accommodation formats, the operator networks and the service standards are gathered in the summary article VIP terminals of business aviation worldwide, which also carries the overall count across 308 objects.

How to use this

In North America the question usually stands differently than in other regions: a business aviation terminal exists at almost any destination, and the choice is between several of them at the same airfield. At Van Nuys, Teterboro and White Plains it is worth naming the particular FBO in the request itself — the car's access to the aircraft steps and the parking spot both depend on it. In winter at Bozeman, Aspen and Jackson Hole hangar space is taken up in advance, so the parking is secured together with the flight.

The long-range class I know from my own deals: Bombardier Global passed through my hands, and the BD-700 carries 6000 nautical miles on paper, some 11 000 km. The Vancouver site from the list above keeps three heated hangars and a 175 000 sq ft apron for machines of that class. The region has a leasing side to it as well: I spent five years in aircraft leasing before business aviation, and the large players of that market sit in the United States among other places. Aircraft on the Russian register work Russia and friendly countries, and North America is not on that list. We work worldwide and stay away from sanctioned deals.
